Richard Killick – Founder & Head Instructor
I’m the founder and Head Coach of Killick Off Road Arts (KORA). I combine decades of martial arts experience with a passion for teaching. I am dedicated to empowering others.
Since 1978, I’ve been on an incredible journey through the martial arts. I have trained, researched, and tested myself across disciplines. These include boxing, fencing, and combatives. I have also explored the closed-door arts of Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Europe. Along the way, I’ve fought in multiple disciplines. I have also coached fighters who have achieved success in boxing, Muay Thai, stick & sword fighting, and MMA. They have succeeded both in competition and in real-world situations.
But for me, martial arts is about more than just winning fights. It’s about building confidence, self-esteem, and resilience. I’ve trained people from all walks of life. These include everyday students, aid workers, intelligence professionals, and even celebrities. I have helped them become stronger, safer, and more capable versions of themselves.
At KORA, I’ve created a fun, safe, and world-class training environment. Students can challenge themselves here. They can learn practical skills and enjoy the lifelong benefits of martial arts. Whether you want to sharpen your self-defence or improve your fitness, you’ll find a place here. You can also take your training to the next level.
My journey as a martial artist never stops—I’m always researching, refining, and learning. I invite you to join me at KORA and start your own journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and growth.

James Cathcart – KORA Instructor
I started training in martial arts in the late 90s, Attending Taekwondo classes in my early teens. A few years later, I moved house. After the move, I began training in Jeet Kune Do and Filipino stick fighting with Richard Killick.
I began training as an instructor in Richard’s KORA System recently. This year, I had the opportunity to participate in the KORA Weapons Training Program. There, we developed our skills using a mix of styles. These styles can be used in the real world for safety and attack prevention.
When training to be a KORA instructor, I had several goals. I wanted to take these techniques out of the martial arts world. I aimed to package them for the average person. My goal was to help develop a skill set that will last a lifetime.
